Pippa Schmidt is a strong-willed ever-questioning eight-year-old who doesn’t believe her grandmother’s superstitions.

But one day she puts them to the test and ends up in The Land of I Told You So, a strange and extraordinary world where everything “They say” comes true. There she meets Francis Drizzle – a tragically clumsy boy whose fate it is to accidentally step on spiders and change the weather for the worse...

Together they must outwit the ruthless Ringmistress, Madame Schadenfreude and Pants-On-Fire, her fibbing Boy Friday, before they end up as the headlining laughingstocks in “Schadenfreude’s Superstition Scoffer’s Sideshow Circus”.
